Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She frequently appears for CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Before joining CNN, in June of the year 2015, she had worked at several local radio stations, among them those located in Atlanta as well as Nashville. She covered hurricanes and blizzards along with flooding and wildfires and was awarded an Emmy for her coverage of Hurricane Dorian that struck the Bahamas in 2019. She also was a part of her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011. More than 350 tornadoes struck in the Southeastern United States in just four days. More than 200 on the 27th. Chinchar has reported on climate change, but also volcanic eruptions and earthquakes because of her expertise in environmental science. Chinchar holds a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. She's also a part of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
