Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind helped her escape from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she was able to read and write she had already composed the songs she wrote herself. Within 8 years she had her very first guitar. In the age of 11 she started singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. That following time, Gold Band Records was a tiny independent record label. While still in highschool, she made her name locally but dreamed about an even bigger stage. The singer moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers to perform on his show syndicated by him from the beginning. Parton was hired in 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, but in 1974, because her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton following the breakup of their collaboration with Wagoner was the one to write I Will Always Love You and had it reach No. The first time it reached number 1 was in 1974.
